2 - 4 November 2010
5th Anniversary Mangystau Regional Oil & Gas, Infrastructure Exhibition |
Mangystau Oblast is a unique production complex, the only one in Kazakhstan, which has its own supplies of all kinds of energy and water.
Today, the oblast is one of the most dynamically developing regions in Kazakhstan boasting sufficient potential in a number of industries, including transport and telecommunications, construction, oil and gas sphere and energy sector.
The oblast’s and the city’s infrastructure is developing, active civil and industrial construction is underway, new manufacturing facilities able of making competitive products are being commissioned.
An intensive development of the Mangystau shelf is underway, where huge oil reserves have been discovered at relatively low depths (50-60 metres) equalling in the Kazakhstan sector of the Caspian Sea at least 17 billion tons by the most conservative estimates.
In the oblast’s industrial output, the share of the oil producing industry is 93.9%. To date, there are 59 oil and gas fields discovered in Mangystau Oblast. Oil reserves in the oblast are 3,156.2 million tons, recoverable reserves make up 1,440.3 million tons.
Recoverable reserves of Kashagan Field are estimated at about 7-9 billion barrels.
The international commercial sea port of Aktau is a critical transit point which ensures connection with foreign countries and sea links with all Caspian littoral countries, as well as the Black Sea and the Mediterranean countries.
The port of Aktau is the only sea port in Kazakhstan designed for international shipping of bulk cargoes, oil and oil products, and is one of the most important links in the TRACECA chain, East – Central Asia – Caucasus – Europe transport corridor.
Work is in progress to raise a new business district, Aktau City, provided with an up-to-date infrastructure for living, active recreation, and business activities, expand the city airport, launch the Caspian Technology University, and construct motor- and railways. Involved in the project are Kazakhstan and foreign construction companies complying with international standards.
