Kazakhstan – main facts

Kazakhstan features stable internal political and international situation.
According to the World Bank, Kazakhstan is among 20 countries that are the most attractive for investments. By the volume of international direct investments per capita of its population Kazakhstan takes the first place in CIS and leads over some Eastern European countries. Improvement of the well-being of population and positive tendency of its economy, are undoubtedly a precondition for quick development of tourism business in the country.
Kazakhstan ranks 5th in the world in terms of estimated Oil & Gas reserves. Total predicted energy resources are estimated within the bounds of 12-17 billions tons. It is obvious that such resources allow considering Kazakhstan as one of the world oil powers.
Kazakhstan became one of the world’s leading exporters of grain. Its grain is exported to more than 40 countries.

Kazakhstan – big tourist opportunities

Starting from 1993 Kazakhstan is a full member of UNWTO. The Governments of foreign states consider Kazakhstan a promising partner with a great potential for tourism, and the number of international agreements on co-optation in the sphere of tourism is increasing year by year!

Kazakhstan’s participation in the “Silk Road” transcontinental tourism route carried out under the aegis of UNWTO in co-operation with UNESCO opens great opportunities for the development of outbound and inbound tourism in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

According to the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2007 tourism services were rendered to 13 mln. 787,6 thousand tourists. Inbound tourism increased by 12,8% (5 mln. 310,6 thousand tourists), outbound tourism grew by 23,2% (4 mln. 544,4 thousand tourists), and domestic tourism increased by 12,5% (3 mln. 932,6 thousand tourists). In the country on the whole, revenues of tourism enterprises grew by 41%.

Today Kazakhstan has air communication with all countries in the World. International flights are performed by the leading international air carriers along with local air companies. Up to now 1000 tourism agencies are operating in Kazakhstan. The overwhelming majority of Kazakhstan’s travel companies provide human services to welcoming foreign citizens from CIS and non-CIS countries to Kazakhstan and outbound services for Kazakhstan’s citizens.

Almaty City is going to host the 2011 Winter Asian Games, and the main goal is to adequately represent the Republic of Kazakhstan to the international community.

KITF 2009 briefly

KITF - is the Premier and the biggest international Tourism & Travel Exhibition in Kazakhstan and Central Asia, and is annually held in the picturesque City of Almaty. KITF – an Excellent Tool for Promoting of National Tourism Product. This was a unanimous opinion of almost all exhibitors and visitors of “KITF 2008” Tourism Fair
KITF 2009 is expecting more than 20.000 visitors from all over Central Asian region.
