About the Market
The Kazakh economy has been experiencing extremely high growth rates since the energy boom in 2000. Since then, the country’s GDP has increased by around 9% every year, reaching 9.3% in 2006. As the Kazakh economy has grown, so too has the number of building and development projects underway in the country. According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, annual investment in capital construction in Kazakhstan has increased steadily for the past 4 years and the overall building market has grown at over 20% per year.
Housing construction has been declared among the priorities of Kazakhstan’s long-term development strategy until the year 2030. The country is also witnessing a steady increase in demand for commercial properties, as an expanding number of domestic and international businesses seek to build their presence in Kazakhstan.
