The oil industry is one of the world’s most developed and innovation-oriented sectors, with new methods and technologies constantly developing. In this respect, meetings between scientists, designers and engineers from advanced oil producing countries are critical for an exchange of expertise and development of new ideas. Atyrau Oil, Gas & Infrastructure 2010 Exhibition became a meeting place for over 2,400 oil and gas industry professionals of Kazakhstan and the entire Caspian Region. The conference featured presentations of the latest developments and technologies as well as discussions of topical issues.

* Specific share of oil and gas industry businesses in the gross regional scope amounts to 95.6%
* About 71% of Kazakhstan total recoverable oil reserves fall within Atyrau Oblast
* In the region, there are more than 75 HC fields, 39 fields are being developed, and preparatory works are in progress at 7 fields; KASHAGAN is the largest field with reserves estimated at 7 BMT
* Total costs of infrastructure projects in oil and gas industry up to Year 2020 are estimated at USD 67 Billion
* Main projects currently implemented in Atyrau Oblast:
- Implementation of North Caspian Off-Shore Project on the Caspian Sea shelf
- Kashagan Field Development Project
- Construction of the Second Generation Plant and the Gas Injection Project
