Description: Although business has been thin over the last year at the Pub - one of the Bishkek's better known establishments - a serious renovation has gone underway in August 2003. The Pub will reopen early September with a facelift, brand new theme, pool table and happy hour from around 6 - 8 pm including beer and margarita specials. Its not cheap: the cheapest beer on draught is Tien Shan - at 50 soms - when it is in stock. The Pub has an American-inspired lunch and dinner menu including burritos and pizza and frequent live music.
"Fatboys"
Address: Chui prospect (intersection with Tynystanova str.)
Description: Fatboys is a British owned cafe with a coffee shop feel by day, English pub by Tuesday and Friday nights. On Tuesdays Fatboys hosts a darts competition. Friday is presently the pub's other big night.
"2x2"
Address: Tustanova (between Chui and Kievskaya - right next to Beta Stores)
Description: It doesn't look like much from the outside but inside 2x2 is a sleel higher end Italian run bar. One can get just about anything to drink here.
"Starry Edgars"
Address: Inside Panvilov park (Between Chui & Frunze adjacent to the Russian Drama theater)
Description: Inside probably one of the best ocean themes in the world for a place this far from the ocean. Seating is inside and out featuring live local music covering 80s and early 90s western tunes, and in the interim 80s soft hits on the stereo.
"Manchester Club"
Address: Kievskaya just east of Soveitskaya
Description: English-style pub with sports on television.
"Stars"
Address: Kievskaya three blocks east of Molodai Gvardia
Description: High-end and classy but expensive bar downstairs
