Ski resort “Karakol” is located 7 km from Karakol city ( Issyk-Kul region) on the slopes of Tian-Shan Mountains . The altitude of the resort is 2300 m. “Karakol” is a perfect place as for the professionals as for the beginners because at the territory of the resort there are ski runs of different levels of complexity and the ski lifts can take you to the elevation up to 2500 m. There you can easily combine skiing and enjoying one the best views in Kyrgyzstan - spectacular panorama of the second largest alpine lake in the world, lake “ Issyk-Kul ”.
At the territory of the resort there is a rental agency for those who have not bought ski equipment yet. There you will supplied with Rossignol" ski equipment. The climate of the region is mild . Average winter temperature is -5 C. Ski season begins in November and ends in the beginning of May. Blanket of snow is 1,5-2m.
The length of ski runs reaches 20 km. The runs are good as for professional skiers as for the beginners. The ski area is remarkable for the fact that skiers can try not only prepared runs but also find the runs that were not used before. The length of the run descend varies from 400 m to 3,5 km. More than a half of the runs go through the coniferous forest and that makes them especially exiting.
One can ski at any altitude. The highest point of the run is 3040 m. Ovefall of the altitude is 800 m, minimal incline is 7%, and maximal incline is 53%.
