Tour summary:
Day 1: Airport – Bishkek
Arrival to Bishkek, transfer to the hotel. Sightseeing tour: Oak Park , Ala -Too Square, Philarmonic hall, Statue of Manas, Victory Square . Overnight in the hotel.
Day 2: Bishkek – Issyk-Kul
In the morning transfer to Issyk-Kul Lake ( 260 km ). En route visit Burana tower, which marks the original site of the Karakhanid town, Balasagun. Continue driving to Issyk-Kul . Arrival to Issyk-Kul , accommodation in a hotel on the North Shore of Issyk-Kul Lake .
Day 3: Issyk-Kul – Cholpon-Ata - Kochkor
Drive to Cholpon-Ata. Visit open-air art gallery of stone, said to date from 500 BC – 100 AD, they depict wolves, long-horned ibex, goats, horses, snow leopards, sacrifices and some hunting scenes. After lunch transfer to Kochkor ( 150 km ). Dinner. Overnight in Kyrgyz family.
Day 4: Kochkor – Naryn
After breakfast you will experience the procedure of making felt carpets in Kochkor. Lunch. Transfer to Naryn ( 160 km ). It is a long, thin town that straddles the fast flowing Naryn River and is set between high, steep cliffs. Naryn is located 200 km away from Chinese border and from ancient times travelers used to stop for a night in Naryn. Lunch and dinner in Naryn. Overnight in the guest house.
Day 5: Naryn – Tash-Rabat
In the morning transfer to Tash-Rabat ( 115 km ) towards the Chinese border. Tash Rabat, Caravan Saray 11th century, served as a fortress for travelers along the Great Silk Road. This is a carefully restored stone building. After lunch the excursion to Tash-Rabat. It is possible to have a horse back riding here. Dinner and overnight in yurts (Kyrgyz dwelling).
Day 6: Tash-Rabat - Torugart
Early in the morning transfer to Torugart border ( 95 km ). At the end of the valley the road swings Eastwards around the southern tip of the At Bashi range and climbs towards Torugart pass ( 3752 m ). Arriving to the border. Crossing the border and meeting with Chinese tour company.
