Uzbekistan, along with Tajikistan and Kazakhstan, took part in UN international conference held in Berden, Norway. The conference was devoted to problems of protecting wild nature and rare animals in Central Asia region.
Three neighbor countries agreed to combine their efforts to preserve and create good living conditions for such rare animals as bukharian deer, antelope, camel, yak, snowy leopard, etc.
Basic factors for disappearance of those animals are climate change, overgrazing, natural disasters and unsustainable irrigation system. Nowadays, most of those rare animals are listed in Red Book, annotated list of rare and endangered animals, plants and fungi.
At the end of the conference the parties agreed to take active measures aimed at restoring the population of animals and their more strict protection.
