Why Uzbekistan?
In 2006 the GDP growth has reached 7,3%. The growth of exported production has been increased up to 12%. Exporting balance has reached over 1.3 billion US dollars.
In 2007 the GDP plans to be increased up to 7.6%. Economic growth will be provided by speeding up of industrial sector development of the country (9%).
Owing to the exemption and preferential schemes introduced in the country, as of 2006 over 20 billion US dollars of foreign investments were drawn into the economy of Uzbekistan. Direct investments made up 104 million US dollars. Around 4,000 economic agents with the participation of the foreign capital are carrying out their activity in Uzbekistan. An Investment program, directed on implementation of large investment projects, which makes provision for assimilation of investments in a sum equivalent to 3.95 billion US dollars was approved for 2007.
Import of construction materials to Uzbekistan for the last two years (2005 – 2006) has made about 500 million US dollars, including construction materials not produced in the republic amounting to 438.3 million US dollars (rolled metal, pipes from ferrous metals, timber, fiberboard, chipboard).
Export of construction materials in 2005 – 2006 has made about 80 million US dollars.
Priority tasks of construction sector in Uzbekistan till 2010
- Step-by-step increasing of industrial share (including the construction industry) in GDP up to 24-26%.
- House-building.
- Attraction of foreign investments to be directed for the new joint ventures creation, technical renewal and modernisation of manufacturing enterprises in the construction complex.
- Full completion of liberalization and privatization processes of design and contracting construction organisations, set up of privately owned enterprises and Joint Ventures on their basis.
- Transition to the “turn-key” structure of buildings, set up of engineering companies, design and building organisations.
Official Support of UzBuild 2008
- The exhibition has got the official support of the JSC Uzstroymaterialy (UzBuildingMaterials) till 2011. UzBuild 2008 is held with organising support of Uzexpocentre of the Ministry for Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
