On October 26, the State Fine Arts Museum of Uzbekistan opened an exhibition “Uzbekistan, My Motherland”. It is dedicated to the 90th anniversary of an outstanding artist Yu.I. Elizarov. The exhibition was organized by the Republican International Cultural Center, Jewish National Cultural Center and the Embassy of Israel to Tashkent, represented by Mr. Hillel Newman, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Israel.
The exhibition shows the best paintings and sculptures by artists of Jewish origin, who have ever created in Uzbekistan. Among artists there are such names as A.E. Viner, A.A. Goldray, G.I. Zilberman, M.I. Kalontarov, E.M. Kalontarov, I.L. Lizak, I.D. Rubin, L.I. Reznikov and others. The speech was given to the famous sculptor Yakov Shapiro, whose works you can find not only in Tashkent, but also in other cities around the world. The main feature of the exhibition is the fact that it is the first time when works of artists, who lived in Uzbekistan at various periods, are united within the framework of one exposure.
The exhibition, held as a part of Art Week Style.uz, is another important event in the cultural life of Tashkent.
