Uzbek chef Hakim Ganiev set a new world record, cooking the largest volume of lagman in the world. The new record was set at Manty-Ponty restaurant in Minsk on 18 October, 2014. The weight of lagman was 351,1kg that was registered by Experts of international agency on registering records “Interrecord”. This was reported by the Uzbek and international mass media.
This is not the first culinary record set by Hakim Ganiev. In October last year there was prepared narin weighing 500kg under his supervision that entered the Guinness Book of Records as the largest narin in the world.
Lagman and narin are popular flour dishes in Central Asia. Along with plov, shahslik and manti, lagman and narin are dishes of classical Uzbek cuisine and preparation varies from region to region in Uzbekistan.
