Urgench International Airport won the prestigious contest “The best airport in the CIS states” held by the Association of Civil Aviation “Airport”, reports the official website of Uzbekistan Airlines.
The victory was received in the nominations “The best CIS airport 2015” and “Contribution in the sphere of tourism”. Uzbek air harbors have already taken part in this contest several times and won the award in different nominations. For Urgench Airport, it is the fourth victory in this prestigious contest.
It is to note that in 2013-2015 the airport held an extensive reconstruction and introduced new modern terminals of international and local airlines with capacity of 300 passengers an hour. Apart from that the building of the airport has a transit hall for 200 passengers, VIP and CIP halls as well as a crew room. Information room has been developed for tourists, where guests of the city can get information on transportation of the region, hotels, food courts and other.
