Route description: The target of this trekking- the “pearl” of North Tien-Shan “Djasyl Kol” lake, which is located between Zailiyskiy and Kungey Alatau mountains on the height 3116 meters. It’s the unique beautiful natural phenomenon.The route to the lake lays on the pictorial gorge of Talgar river. Here you go trough coniferous forest and reach the alpine meadows which smoothly turns into the tundra. There beyond only eternal ice this formats glaciers. One of them called glacier of “Dmitriev” you will visit on the height 4010 meters. Come down from the glacier you will reach the target of this trekking – Djasyl-Kol lake. Taking rest on the beautiful lakeside, you will move to the last part of trekking –Big Almaty lake.
Tour Summary:
Day 1: Transfer by car Almaty –“Medeo” sportcomplex (1,5 hours). Crossing “Kim-Asar” river’s gorge- “Butakovskiy” pass (2900m)-3,5 hours. Descending to the gorge of “Left Talgar” river (2 hours). Overnight in the tents ( Camp ¹1) on the height 2100 meters.
Day 2: Breakfast. Crossing up along the valley of “left Talgar” river to “Sunny Glade”(2700m)-5 hours. Overnight in the tents ( Camp ¹2) on the height 2700 meters.
Day 3: Breakfast. Crossing “Sunny Glade” – “Dmitriev” glacier (3600m) – 6 hours. Overnight in the tents ( Camp ¹3) on the height 3600 meters.
Day 4: Breakfast. Rising to “Festival” pass (4010m)-2,5 hours. Descending from the pass on the left bank of Talgar river-2,5 hours. Overnight in the tents ( Camp ¹4) on the height 3300 meters.
Day 5: Breakfast. Crossing the river “Chong-Kemin” to the Djasyl-Kol lake(3116m)-3 hours. Overnight in the tents ( Camp ¹5) on the height 3100 meters.
Day 6: Breakfast. Crossing the Djasyl-Kol lake- “Kel-Almaty’” river- “Ozerniy” pass(3507m)-5 hours. Overnight in the tents ( Camp ¹6) on the height 3400 meters.
Day 7: Breakfast. Crossing “Ozerniy” pass (3507m) – “Ozernaya” river- Big Almaty Lake(2600m) – 3 hours. Transfer by car to Almaty-2 hours.
