Last weekend (April, 14-15), the “Djanbas- Kala” travel agency presented its yurt camp, located on a hill close to the ancient fortress Djanbas – Kala. For the opening ceremony were invited some leading travel agencies of Uzbekistan, local administration, cultural activists and scientists.
Djambas – Kala Fortress was built in the 4th century BC and 5 centuries later was destroyed under the pressure of nomads, who managed to break throughout defense. Today you can see well-preserved double walls of the Fortress, the height of which is around 8-10 meters. There is also the Temple of Fire and Sun, the inhabitants of which, professed Zoroastrianism - one of the oldest religions of the world. During two thousands years, the appearance of the Fortress was changed under the influence of water and wind: loopholes seriously eroded after the rainy season, and part of the walls is almost covered by sand.
Besides of visiting this magnificent monument of Khorezm antiquity, Djanbas – Kala yurt camp also offers for the guests of the camp such entertainments as: boating and fishing on a small fresh lake Rovshan, and flying on the balloon if there no strong winds. And in the evening, it organizes folk performances and makes a big fire – to demonstrate the rich culture of Khorezm and Karakalpak peoples.
The guests liked the camp very much, which is a good sign that soon this place will be one of the best yurt camp of Karakalpakstan.
Soon we will present new page on our site about Djanbas - Kala.
