Cableway from Rustaveli Avenue to Mtatsminda

A new cable car in Tbilisi, launched in October 2024, connects Rustaveli Avenue with the observation deck on Mtatsminda Mountain and quickly became a popular attraction. The lift features 21 gondolas, each seating up to eight people, with panoramic windows offering scenic views of the old city during the ride.

The cable car can transport up to 1,200 people per hour, covering the 845-metre distance in just four minutes. To ride, passengers must purchase a reusable Mtatsminda Park card, available at the lower or upper station ticket offices, which can also be used to access the attractions in the amusement park.

The lower station is located at 52 Shota Rustaveli Avenue, near the Georgian Academy of Sciences. The upper station is on Mtatsminda Mountain, close to the observation deck and the Funicular restaurant.

Tbilisi also boasts two other cable cars: one connecting Rike Park with Narikala Fortress and another linking Chavchavadze Avenue with Turtle Lake.
