Tsinandali Park
Tsinandali Park is a picturesque green oasis that harmoniously blends European landscape design with the natural beauty of Kakheti. Established in the first half of the 19th century by Prince Alexander Chavchavadze, it became Georgia’s first landscaped garden, introducing innovative horticultural concepts for its time.
The century-old tree-lined alleys, shaded and serene, invite visitors to take leisurely strolls through the lush greenery. One of the park’s most famous attractions is the Labyrinth of Love – an elegant shrub-lined corridor where, according to tradition, lovers make wishes.
The park is home to rare plant species brought from around the world, including majestic plane trees, pyramidal cypresses, exotic magnolias, and dwarf palms. A small bamboo grove adds a touch of Eastern charm to the garden’s landscape. During summer, the park is especially enchanting, offering refreshing shade and the soothing sounds of birdsong beneath its sprawling tree canopies.
Today, Tsinandali Park is more than just a historical garden – it serves as a cultural hub, hosting festivals, classical music concerts, and art exhibitions. As visitors wander through its shady alleys, they can immerse themselves in the refined atmosphere of Georgia’s aristocratic past, where poetry readings, social gatherings, and wine tastings once took place.
