Expo 2025 in Japan: Innovation and Humanity in FocusExpo 2025 in Japan is poised to make a significant impact on the world stage with its pioneering innovations and a strong emphasis on humanity, emerging at a time of profound global challenges.

During the World Economic Forum in Davos, the designers of the Osaka-Kansai Expo introduced a visionary thematic project aimed at fostering global resonance, attracting the attention of influential leaders from around the world.

Described as “a powerful movement of hope, inspiration and progress for the well-being of all humankind”, the Japan Expo in Osaka is set to open in April, unveiling its core theme, “Resonance of Lives”, to an international audience.

According to the organisers, this initiative will “provide an experience of creating a new world together, in the midst of this profound turning point”.

At the heart of Expo 2025 is the concept of “The future in a resonance of lives”, which seeks to connect people through diverse aspects of life, “working toward the future, resonating with other persons, with nature, and with the world”.

One of the key figures behind the Expo’s vision is Professor Hiroaki Miyata, a global thought leader whose research in social reform aligns with the event’s core message. He envisions a society where diversity thrives and “each individual shines through experiencing that world with others”.

In an interview with Euronews, conducted at Japan’s main event within the World Economic Forum in Davos, Professor Miyata elaborated on the Expo’s mission and its central idea of a “resonant society”.

The organisers describe Expo 2025 as “a laboratory for a future society”, where visitors will go beyond simply viewing exhibits to actively participate in shaping the future. They highlight the event as “a place where the world’s knowledge such as cutting-edge technology will be brought together, used to create new ideas, and shared, all to help resolve global issues facing mankind”.
