Attractions in Astana
Astana look and atmosphere indicate an aspiration of Kazakhstan to the future. The Kazakhstan young capital is very modern and bright. The ingenious architectural projects which use advanced technologies and design, super modern hotels, business-centers, multi-storey new buildings reflect city’s bold ambitions and gushing energy.
Center of the city is decorated with such attractions in Astana as the Bayterek monument and Palace of Peace and Reconciliation, which were built under the project of the well-known modern architecture Norman Foster. The Ak Orda Presidential Palace can be seen on excursions, while the whole Kazakhstan in miniature on the area of 2ha can be seen in the Atameken ethno-memorial complex. Duman recreational complex is an interesting place of rest and entertainment. Along with shops, cinema theaters, park amusements and cafés, there are also Museum of Miniatures and seaquarium, home of more than 2,000 sea animals, brought there from different corners of the planet. We invite sports fans to visit the super-modern Astana-Arena stadium, which admits 30,000 spectators.
You must visit the Astana Circus, even if you are not a circus art fan. The building itself, deserves to be visited at least once. Indeed, it is a UFO giant dish, lit at nights, the same way as this extraterrestrial object. Inside, the Circus is fitted with up-to-date equipments; the arena is equipped with modern machineries to perform different numbers, ice show, flights etc.
It is also pleasant to take a walk in the Astana center. The city is decorated with decorative sculptures, original fountains and installations in spirit of modernity, which add special charm and individuality to Kazakhstan’s capital.
Astana, like any other modern capital, has a wide choice of restaurants and cafés, as well as parks, museums, theaters and cinema theaters which are interesting for a tourist to visit.

Bayterek
What should you start exploring Astana from? Surely, you should start from the Bayterek, the capital’s symbol. The monument embodies the Kazakh people’s idea of the universe. The tower construction symbolizes three universe bases – underground, earthly and heavenly worlds. At the depth of 4.5 meter, there is the lower level housing café, aquariums and mini-gallery “Bayterek”.

The Palace of Peace and Reconciliation
The Palace of Peace and Reconciliation was built under the project of the world-famous architect Norman Foster, on special occasion to hold “Congress of leaders of world and traditional religions”. Its unique feature is not only in the purpose it was erected for, but also in the ‘Fibonacci Golden Section” concept used in this pyramid construction. Its basis is a 62x62m square, its height is 62 m, too.

Ak Orda
The construction of the top public official’s residence using the latest technologies took 3 years. The building height with the spire amounts to 80 m, whereupon the ground floor height is 10 m. The ground floor excursion includes visiting of the Grand Central Hall totaling 1,800 m2, Hall of Press Conferences, Gala Hall, Winter Garden.

Atameken

Khan Shatyr
The shopping and entertainment center “Khan Shatyr” was open in July 2010. It can be called one of the Astana latest landmarks, because its architect was famous Norman Foster, who had designed many structures not only in Astana, but also in London and many other world’s country.

Circus

Khasret Sultan Cathedral Mosque

The most popular Astana theaters are the Russian Drama Theater named after M. Gorky and National Opera and Ballet Theater named after K. Baiseitova.
Shopping
Shopping entertainment center MEGA along with a range of products from supermarket and boutiques, may offer its visitors a cinema theater with six cinema halls, children’s park with area equal to that of playing field and so on. Another equally large shopping center is Keruen, located in the very center of the Kazakhstan’s capital, not far from the country’s symbol– Bayterek.
Restaurants
Astana’s restaurants differ with their cuisine: the first ones have Kazakh national dishes prevailing in their menu, the second – European ones, while the third – Asian, with accent to Japanese ones. In addition some of them may offer na extended menu, which includes many world’s cuisines. It should be noted, that, some restaurants may boast with an excellent wine list or wide choice of beer brands.
