Astana launches the construction of Kazakhstan's first "green" office complex - the Talan Towers, - reports Trend news agency as quoted by “Verny Capital” group of companies, the project investor.
The $ 300mln-worth complex will be built to use "green" energy-efficient technologies in compliance with LEED requirements. The standards of this American rating system are set up to organize the construction, most appropriate for the environment. In particular, LEED standards control the efficiency of energy and water consumption, reduction of CO2 emissions, indoor climate, resource management and the human activity impact.
According to the project, the Talan Towers complex represents a structure consisting of two 26- and 30-storey towers, connected by a three-level podium. Its first tower will house a hotel of the world-famous chain The Ritz-Carlton and residential apartments, the second tower will accommodate A+ class business center. The podium will house world-level brand shops, a ceremonial hall, spa, fitness center. According to the architects, the Talan Towers complex will be compositionally related to the Astana’s symbol - “Bayterek” Tower. The construction will use such materials as stone, glass and metal.
The construction of the Talan Towers complex will be one of the first steps on the way of Kazakhstan's transition to a “green economy” and also a part of the preparation activity for the “EXPO-2017: Energy of the Future”, to be held in Astana from June 10 through September 10, 2017. Talan Towers will be completed in 2016.
