American bloggers chose the top ten best archeological and historical discoveries of 2015. The list included Kazakhstan geoglyphs (relief geometric and figure patterns on the surface of earth), - reports the News Agency KazInform. It goes about the geoglyphs discovered by the researcher Dmitriy Dey in Turgay sag in 2007. They became known in 2015, when NASA officially published space shots of the sensational finding.
Tremendous geometric figures such as squares, crosses, lines and circles that may only be recognizable from the air are shown on the satellite pictures of the steppes of the north region of Kazakhstan. Supposed age of the figures is 8000 years.
The most ancient of all figures is the square consisting of 101 kurgans, whose opposite corners are connected with the diagonals. The area of the figure is more than the Egyptian pyramids in size. The other beautiful object is three-ray swastika; its ends are rounded with a counter clock-wise arrow.
At the moment, NASA included space photo shooting of the Turgay region in the list of tasks for spacemen on the International Space station. Apart from that, Turgay geoglyphs became the main sensation of the last-year forum of the European association of archaeologists in Istanbul.
Among other interesting discoveries of 2015 are temple complex in Cambodia, hidden portrait under the “Mona Lisa” and lost city in the rainforest of Honduras.
