High mountain passes and peaks, breathtaking views, crystal-clear lakes are awaiting you in Tajikistan. Our fifteen day tour will open up Tajikistan famous for its mountain ranges that occupy 93% the country territory, and major area being at the altitude of 3000 meters above sea level. In addition, you will explore historical and cultural attractions of Dushanbe, noisy and colorful oriental fairs, hot springs, ruins of ancient fortresses and put your feet up at the resort in the heart of the Fan Mountains. Treat yourself to this undiscovered country!
Tour itinerary:
As you arrive in Dushanbe (in the morning) our driver will meet you and transfer to the hotel. After some rest the city tour starts. You will visit Tajikistan National Museum of Antiquities, where the famous statue of Buddha in Nirvana is preserved. Continue to the Botanical garden, favorite leisure venue of locals. The next spot is a local bazaar, where you will feel real Tajik spirit and see eastern art of trading. Overnight at the hotel.
In the morning you will depart to Pamir Mountains via Tavildara and Khaburabad pass (or via Kulyab region). Final destination is a small town Kalai Khumb on the Panj River. Further you are away from the capital, more beards and traditional clothing you will see. Although appearance differs from urban to rural areas, the hospitality is just as welcoming. Overnight at the hotel.
The days starts with driving to Khorog, a small mountain valley town, the capital of the autonomous Gorno-Badakhshan region. Our road lies along the Panj River, a tributary of the mighty Amu Darya River. You will have a chance to see Afghanistan across the river. The city lies 2000 m above the sea level, strung out irregularly along the slopes of both sides of the dashing Gunt River. A few kilometers downstream, the Gunt merges with the Panj, the river that marks the border with Afghanistan. Arrival in Khorog. Overnight at the hotel.
In the morning you will visit famous thermal mineral spring Garm Chashma. Later depart to Ishkashim, a small town at the mouth of the Wakhan corridor, where the 19th century Great Game ended. Continue up the north side of the river with amazing views of the Pamir Mountains on the left and the Hindu Kush Mountains on the right; the peaks you see are above 6,000 m. Overnight in the guest house.
In the morning you will leave Ishkashim and drive to Langar. On the way, visit one of the old fortresses on the Silk Road Kah-Kaha in Namadgut. Continue to the Museum of Sufi Muborak-Kadami Vakhani, a local Sufi scholar, theologian, poet and traveller, who died in 1910. There is a stone pillar with a hole near his house, which he used to calculate a solar calendar and a building with inscriptions and decorations made by the scholar. We will also visit Buddhist Stupa in Vrang, sacred thermal springs of Bibi Fatima Zahra, and ruins of Yamchun Fortress (4th-3rd centuries B.C.) that guarded once Pamir branch of the Great Silk Road. Overnight in the guest house.
In the morning ascend to Langar village to see the petroglyphs carved into the rock. After lunch drive to Yashilkul Lake via Khargush Pass (4344 m). Arrival in Bulunkul. Overnight in the guest house.
Drive to Khorog via Koi - Tezek pass (4271 m). A walk around the neighborhood. Lunch on the way. Arrival in Khorog. Overnight at the hotel.
You will visit botanical garden and further head to the town of Kalai -Khumb. Overnight at the hotel.
Drive to Dushanbe via Khobu-Robot pass (3252 m). Arrival in Dushanbe. Overnight at the hotel.
Drive from Dushanbe to Iskanderkul Lake via the Anzob Pass (3373 m). On the way, enjoy spectacular views of Iskandarkul Lake. According to the legend, the Lake Iskanderkul was named after Alexander the Great, known as Iskander in the East. People say that Alexander the Great's path to India passed by this lake. Arrive in Iskanderkul in the afternoon. Overnight in the guest house.
Drive to Penjikent. Arrival and check-in at the hotel. Meet your guide and start excursion. You will visit the Museum of Rudaki, explore Ancient Penjikent where ruins of old Sogdian town reached our days, it was founded in the 5th and abandoned in the 8th century by Arabs. Foundations of houses, a citadel with a couple of Zoroastrian fire temples and city bazaar are visible in the excavated ruins. Overnight at the hotel.
Drive to Seven Lakes (80 km) through the settlement of Sarazm, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Seven lakes of Marguzor are located on the west of Fan Mountains. Each lake in mountains of Tajikistan has a different color. The Seven Lakes are: Mijgon, Soya, Hushyor, Nofin (2139 m above sea level), Hurdak, Marguzor, and Hazorchashma (2400 m above sea level). Have picnic on the seventh Lake, Hazorchashma. Return to Penjikent (80 km). Overnight at the hotel.
Drive to Artuch. Mountain Base “ARTUCH” which is located in the heart of Fann Mountains.

Drive to Dushanbe. Part of the road goes through tunnel “Istiqlol”. Arrival in Dushanbe. Free time. Overnight at the hotel.
