Passport holders of the following 14 countries are eligible for visa-free entry to Turkey.
- Germany
- Belgium
- France
- Georgia
- The Netherlands
- Spain
- Switzerland
- Italy
- Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus
- Liechtenstein
- Luxemburg
- Malta
- Portugal
- Greece
Some nationals of the countries listed above can enter Turkey even if their passports are expired:
- Belgium – passports and IDs expired within the last year.
- Bulgaria – a valid ordinary passport.
- France - a passport expired within the last 5 years.
- Germany - passports and IDs expired within the last year.
- Luxemburg – a passport expired within the last 5 years.
- Portugal – a passport expired within the last 5 years.
- Spain – a passport expired within the last 5 years.
- Switzerland – a passport expired within the last 5 years.
Countries That don’t Require a Turkey Visa
You don’t require a visa if you are a national of the following 78 countries, whether for tourism or commercial purposes. Visa-free entry conditions may vary from country to country. Therefore, look at the list below to see if the requirements apply to your country.
The citizens of these countries can stay in Turkey between 30 to 90 days within 180 days. Please check with your country's consulate to know the allowed stay period.
The following nationals are exempt from a visa if they are nationals of one of the following countries, and they satisfy the following criteria:
- They are Cyprus nationals and residents, directly arriving from Ercan International Airport or the seaports of Famagusta, Kyrenia, or Karavostassi. Given that they meet this condition, they can stay in Turkey for up to 90 days within 6 months (180 days)
- They are nationals of Libya younger than 13 years or 65 and over. Given that they meet this condition, they can stay in Turkey for up to 90 days within 6 months (180 days)
- Palestinians with a VIP passport.
Citizens Who Need an E-visa
Passport holders of the following 40 countries should apply for a visa electronically or on arrival.
While most citizens of these countries can stay in Turkey for a maximum of 90 days within 180 days, others are allowed to stay only 30 days. Please check with your country’s consulate or Turkey's e-visa official webpage to know the allowed period of stay.
Who Needs a Conditional E-visa?
A conditional visa is a single-entry visa that allows citizens of a specific country to enter Turkey for tourism and business only once and stay there for a period of 30 days.
Conditions to Get an E-visa
These are the requirements to get a Turkish e-visa:
- You must have a valid visa or residence permit from the UK, Ireland, the US, or a Schengen Area. The requirement is not applicable to Gabon and Zambia nationals.
- You are flying to Turkey with an airline that has agreements with the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The requirement is not applicable to Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, and the Philippines.
- Travelers should have a hotel reservation.
- Algeria citizens must be not younger than 18 years and not older than 35 years.

- You can check out if you need an e-visa to Turkey by visiting www.evisa.gov.tr/en/. In the meantime, make sure to acquaint yourself with the following information about the Turkey e-visa application.
- You can apply for an e-visa as an individual or a family (2 to 10 people). The group application of 10 to 300 people is also possible.
- E-visa is designed only for tourist and trade purposes.
- The expiration date of your passport or travel document should be valid at least for 60 days from the day of exit or the duration of your stay.
- The payment methods for an e-visa are Mastercard, Visa, and UnionPay.
- The duration of stay and the validity period are not the same. You can enter Turkey at any time within the validity period.
- You must submit a new application if you need to travel to Turkey earlier than the date indicated on your electronic visa application.
