“Astana-Baba” Mausoleum

The largest Dayakhatyn caravanserai (Bai-Khatyn) is an architectural monument of the XI-XII centuries. It was situated on the medieval road from Amul (Turkmenabad) to Khorezm. Ancient Settlement of Amul (X – XI centuries)
The medieval settlement of Amul is ruins of Amul ruler’s fortress. The ancient settlement lies right at the entry to Turkmenabad, actually 10 km from the city’s center. In the X century, the settlement was represented by a vast square rammed loam fortress surrounded with a wide moat. Each of the fortress sides had its own gates.
