Khiva is located in the remote western part of Uzbekistan, but recent developments have improved its connectivity. In 2018, a railroad extension reached the city, leading to the opening of a modern train station.
The nearest airport is in Urgench, 35 km from Khiva, with daily flights from Tashkent and select cities across Asia. Travelers can easily rent a car or book a transfer, choosing from sedans, minivans, or buses.
Additionally, transfers to nearby cities such as Nukus and Bukhara are available, along with all-day excursions to explore the ancient fortresses of Khorezm.
