The Tashkent Center of National Arts is conducting an exhibition of fashion designer Nasiba Akhmedova and master of carpet weaving Dilfuza Kuchkarova. The exhibition is held in the framework of the project "On the way of revival" organised by Idjod Creative Association. The basic aim of the association is to preserve, revitalize and develop national culture of Uzbekistan.
Especially for the project Nasiba Akhmedova created a collection of doll images in national costumes of the peoples of Central Asia. The exhibition presents classic dolls in traditional costumes of different regions of Uzbekistan, as well as Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and other countries of the Central Asian region.
In ancient times, puppet performances at bazar square were very popular among the public, and today, these dolls are often presented as an original souvenir, bought by tourists.
In its turn, Kuchkarova Dilfuza displayed more than 50 works on carpet weaving, which she has been creating during last two years. The master preserves ancient traditions of Khorezm carpet weaving of her family, which for several generations has been engaged into this kind of craft.
It is worth to be noted, that the tradition of carpet weaving is stored and developed now in every region of our country. Carpets from Uzbekistan are famous for their intricate patterns, distinctive color, brightness and high quality.
For fans of the oriental exotic, as well as for those who want to decorate own home with interesting and original things, such dolls and carpets will be good gift and excellent complement for interior.
The exhibition will last till 20 October 2013.
