History of Georgia - Antiquity

The first traces of a primitive man on the territory of Georgia are dated the mid-paleolith when there was a large centre of agriculture there. The most ancient finds in Akhaltsikhi testify to that. The later ones prove the existence of developed ancient Georgian tribes in the Bronze Age which were engaged in fishing. They even extracted metal to make tools.
