Hiking Tour to Lagodekhi Waterfalls offers you a sliver of paradise in Georgia’s Kakheti Region. Travel from Tbilisi to Lagodekhi National Park, where for two consecutive days you will enjoy long, scenic hikes to the reserve’s most exquisite waterfalls. Other highlights of this adventure include swimming and picnics at the waterfall, two homecooked Georgian meals and an overnight stay at a cozy family guesthouse.
Lagodekhi National Park was established in 1912 as the first nature reserve in the country of Georgia. Today the park is a forest-filled swath of land which covers more than 24 thousand hectares and is home to rare flora and fauna, including 26 plants and more than 40 animals listed as endangered species.

Tour itinerary:

Day 1: Tbilisi – Lagodekhi
 
At 08:00, our driver and guide will pick you up at your hotel. The route will go through picturesque green hills and vineyards of the Kakheti region to Lagodekhi, a lovely Georgian town located at the gates of an eponymous national park.
Lagodekhi National Park came to life in 1912 as the first nature reserve in Georgia. Today the park comprises 24,451 hectares of mostly forest-covered area. Lagodekhi is home to various rare local flora and fauna. Twenty-six plants and more than 40 animals are in the Red Data Book of Georgia listed as rare and endangered species. Lagodekhi is a fantastic hiking site with several well-marked trails. Upon arrival, you will proceed to explore one of them – the hike to the 6-meter high Black Grouse Waterfall. The hike has a total length of is 9 kilometers and usually takes 3-5 hours to complete. The path will take us through a thick forest and along a rapid stream. We will have a picnic lunch at the waterfall.
After the hike, we will head to a cozy family guest house and enjoy a lazy evening before getting a sample of traditional Georgian hospitality over a delectable dinner. Overnight at guesthouse.

Day 2: Lagodekhi – Tbilisi
 
After breakfast, we will leave our guesthouse and head to the village of Khizabavra. From here, we will start an 8 km (one way) long hike to the 40-meters-high Ninoskhevi Waterfall. The hike usually takes 4-6 hours round-way, depending on the conditions of the trail. Be ready to get wet – you will have to cross a river several times – nothing dangerous or challenging, though. Remember to take some snacks with you to keep you energized during the trip.
Once we are back from the hike, we will head to a Georgian family to enjoy traditional Kakheti dinner accompanied by local wine. When we reach Tbilisi, we will drop you off at your hotel or residence. The end of the tour.

Note: Convenient walking shoes, raincoat, torch, suntan lotion, swimsuit, hat, and sunglasses are recommended for this tour.
