Discover the cultures, cuisines, and contrasts of two fascinating regions on this immersive 12-day Georgia–Uzbekistan Tour. From the green slopes of the Caucasus to the golden domes of the Silk Road, this journey is packed with unforgettable experiences.
Begin in Tbilisi, Georgia’s lively capital, where cobbled streets, ancient churches, and modern wine bars coexist. Explore UNESCO-listed sites, rugged mountain passes, and the fertile valleys of Kakheti, known for its winemaking heritage. You’ll travel along the historic Georgian Military Highway to Kazbegi and back through medieval towns and fortress complexes that still echo with the country’s rich past.
In the second half of the tour, head east to Uzbekistan, where the bustling city of Tashkent opens the door to Central Asia. Discover the blue-tiled wonders of Bukhara and Samarkand – names synonymous with the ancient Silk Road – and delve into centuries of Islamic architecture, local craftsmanship, and vibrant bazaars.
This tour includes domestic flights and high-speed trains for smooth transitions between destinations, guided sightseeing every day, and stays in well-located hotels.

Tour itinerary:

Day 1: Tbilisi
 
Arrival in Tbilisi. Transfer to hotel. Check-in at noon. Free time in Tbilisi. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2: Tbilisi city tour
 
Meet your guide to start sightseeing tour in Tbilisi. Start at Holy Trinity cathedral, one of the largest orthodox cathedrals in the world. Continue to Metekhi church and monument to Vakhtang Gorgasali, the legendary founder of Tbilisi. Take the cable car to Narikala Fortress to enjoy breathtaking panoramic view of the city. Walk down to the district of Sulphur bath houses passing by the only mosque in Tbilisi. Stroll through the Sharden area full of narrow streets with cozy cafés, wine tasting bars, souvenir shops, and breathe in the living past. Visit Sioni Cathedral, Anchiskhati Basilica, and the clock tower of famous Rezo Gabriadze Theatre. In the evening, enjoy welcome dinner with folklore show at traditional restaurant. Overnight in Tbilisi.
Day 3: Tbilisi – Mtskheta – Ananuri – Kazbegi
 
After breakfast, drive to Mtskheta, one of the oldest towns and the cultural and religious centre of Georgia. Mtskheta was the capital of the Eastern Georgian Kingdom of Iberia from the third century BC. Visit Jvari Monastery, a true architectural masterpiece of the early Medieval Period overlooking the confluence of Aragvi and Mtkvari rivers from the top of the hill, and Svetitskhoveli, the main cathedral of Mtskheta and a sacred place where the robe of Christ is being kept. Continue to Ananuri architectural complex, a former residence of Argveti Dukes. A complex featuring churches and towers dating back to the XVI-XVII cc. is beautifully overlooking Jinvali reservoir. Continue driving on Georgian Military Highway passing through the highest point of it at 2394 m. above sea level. En-route, make a stop at the mineral water spring flowing down from a hilltop. Arrive at Kazbegi, a small town with views of Mt. Kazbek (or Mkinvari) 5033 m, the seventh highest peak in the Caucasus Mountains. Visit Gergeti Holy Trinity Church located at an altitude of 2170 and enjoy breathtaking views to Mt Kazbegi. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 4: Kazbegi – Gori – Uplistsikhe – Tbilisi
 
Breakfast at hotel. Drive to Gori and visit Stalin Museum. The museum includes more than 60,000 artifacts, the tiny house where Stalin was born, and impressive bulletproof train Stalin used to travel to Yalta and Potsdam. Explore cave town Uplistsikhe dating back to Hellenistic Period and notable for unique combination of various styles of rock-cut cultures and the co-existence of pagan and Christian architecture. Return to Tbilisi for overnight.
Day 5: Tbilisi – Telavi – Tsinandali – Alaverdi – Telavi
 
After breakfast depart towards the Kakheti region of Georgia, the cradle of Georgian wine. Beautiful road lies through Gombori pass. Our first stop will be in Telavi, the administrative and historic center of the region. Have a short walk-through charming streets of old Telavi and have a photo stop at the monument to Erekli II. Drive to Tsinandali, the residence of dukes of Georgia with beautiful English garden, a museum, and the wine cellar which belonged to prince Chavchavadze, 19th century public figure and poet. Continue to Alaverdi Cathedral, the second tallest cathedral in Georgia and an outstanding example of medieval Georgian architecture of 11th century. Return to Telavi for overnight.
Day 6: Telavi – Gremi – Kvareli – Sighnaghi – Bodbe – Tbilisi
 
Continue exploring Kakheti region and Alazani valley. Check-out from hotel and drive to Gremi architectural complex, 16th century royal residence and the capital of Kakheti Kingdom. Gloomy and monumental, the Gremi castle is one of the most visited tourist points in Georgia. Next stop will be at unique wine cellar “Khareba” located in the tunnel carved out of the rock. Originally built for military purposes, today the tunnel is used to store Khareba’s finest wines. Wine tour and wine tasting. Continue to Sighnaghi, the city of love and the Royal Town, one of the crossroads of the Silk Road surrounded by defensive walls with 23 towers. Depart to Tbilisi, making en-route stop at Bodbe convent, which according to the legend is a burial place of St. Nino, who converted Georgia to Christianity in the 4th century. According to Tsar Alexader III of Russia decree, since 1889 Bodbe complex functions as a nunnery. Continue driving to Tbilisi. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 7: Tbilisi – Tashkent
 
Check-out from hotel at 09:15 and transfer to Tbilisi International Airport. Flight Tbilisi-Tashkent at 11:55. Arrive in Tashkent at 15:55. You will be met by Advantour driver and transferred to the hotel. Check in the hotel. Free evening in Tashkent. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 8: Tashkent – Bukhara
 
Meet your guide at 10:00 to start sightseeing in the capital of Uzbekistan, the biggest city in Central Asia. Visit Old City part of Tashkent with Khast-Imam Complex, where the world famous Quran, holy book, of Caliph Uthman has been preserved. The complex consists of Barak-Khan Madrasah, Tillya Sheikh Mosque, Saint Abu Bakr Kaffal Shashi Mausoleum and the Islamic Institute of Imam al-Bukhari. Continue to Chorsu Bazaar. Then take a ride on Tashkent Metro to the city center to visit Applied Arts Museum and walk through Navoi Theater to Amir Timur Square where you will end Tashkent city tour. At 18:00 transfer to the train station. Take the high-speed train, Afrosiyob, departing to Bukhara at 18:50 (605 km). Arrival at 22:39. Upon arrival the driver will transfer you to the hotel in Bukhara.
Day 9: Bukhara
 
After breakfast take a walking sightseeing tour with a guide in historic center of Bukhara enlisted by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Visit Lyabi Khauz Ensemble, Magoki-Attori Mosque, Chor-Minor Madrasah, trade domes, Ulugbek and Abdulazizkhan madrasahs, Kalyan Minaret, Kalyan Mosque and Miri-Arab Madrasah, legendary Ark Fortress, Bolo-Khauz Mosque, Ismail Samani and Chashma-Ayub mausoleums. Enjoy free time in Old City. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 10: Bukhara – Samarkand
 
Meet your guide and driver at the hotel and visit Sitorai Mokhi-Khosa – the summer residence of Bukhara’s last emir, unique site combining Oriental and Russian architecture. Continue to the Mausoleum of Bakhouddin Naqshbandi and the House Museum of Fayzulla Khodjaev. At 14:40 transfer from the hotel to train station. Take the high-speed train, Afrosiyob, to Samarkand departing at 15:52, arriving at 17:25 (270 km). Upon arrival the driver will transfer you to the hotel in Samarkand.
Day 11: Samarkand – Tashkent
 
Check out from the hotel till noon. Meet your guide and driver at the hotel lobby to start city tour. Visit spectacular Registan Square, remains of Bibi-Khanum Mosque, Siab Bazaar, Ulugbek Observatory, Shakhi-Zinda Necropolis and Gur-Emir Mausoleum – the mausoleum of Amir Timur. At 16:30 transfer to the railway station to take the high-speed train, Afrosiyob, departing at 17:30 (300 km). You will arrive in Tashkent at 19:40. Pick-up and transfer to the hotel.
Day 12: Tashkent – departure
 
Check-out from the hotel at noon. Free time until transfer to Tashkent International Airport. Departure. End of the 12-day Georgia-Uzbekistan Tour.
